National Library Week

What brings you Library Joy?

We’d love to know! Please share with us during National Library Week, April 19 – 25. Simply stop by the library any day that week, bring a pen, and share a note about how you find your Library Joy. We also invite you to enter our drawing to win a free Library Joy mug, t-shirt, hat, or Born to Read onesie.

The Library Foundation & Friends and the Library are hosting a packed week of activities. From celebrating the right to read, to following our Library on the Go outreach van’s voyage to local neighborhoods, to enjoying free coffee and donuts during our Library Resources Fair, engaging in Library Joy has never been easier.

Please check out our schedule of events.

We hope you will joy-n us!

Monday, April 20th

Right to Read Day: Today is all about advocacy! A day for readers, advocates, and library lovers to take action to protect, defend and celebrate the right to read. The American Library Association (ALA) kicks off National Library Week with the release of its State of America’s Libraries Report.

Share your love for the library virtually by sharing this badge on your social media accounts!

Tuesday, April 21st

Library Workers Day: See a librarian or library worker? Thank them! Today we celebrate the folks who welcome you and inspire discovery in the library.

The Library Foundation & Friends will also be sharing a proclamation declaring April 19-25 National Library Week. Please join us and show your support at the Teton County Board of County Commissioners’ meeting at 9 a.m.

Wednesday, April 22nd

Library Outreach Day: Visit the Library on the Go outreach van in your neighborhood for prizes, free books, library swag, and information.

Earth Day meets Library Joy: check out the Seed Library and Propagation Station at the Library. Don’t forget our incredible collection of sustainability literature!

Thursday, April 23rd

Take Action For Libraries Day: Join the Library Foundation & Friends for free coffee and donuts, in the lobby from 9am to noon. We’re hosting a Library Resources Fair, a Book Nook Sale, and a drawing for a chance to win one of two incredible astro-photography prints by Board Member Michael Adler.

Browse books, games, puzzles and more at the Book Nook! Purchases of three or more items earn a free ticket for the drawing, or you may choose to purchase tickets for $5 each.

At the Library Resources Fair, you can sample and enjoy services and collection items such as BrainHQ, Playaways, Wonderbooks, Language Learning, CreativeBug, and more! You can even schedule an Early Literacy Room tour for your little reader.

We look forward to helping you Find Your Joy during National Library Week!
